Board
The executive board of the chapter shall have general supervision of the affairs of the chapter, make recommendations to the chapter membership, and perform any duties required by the chapter.
The President is the authorized leader of the chapter. She maintains unity and harmony within the chapter, directs offices, committees and member towards common goals and facilitates communication between ABWA national and the chapter’s offices and members by disseminating information appropriately.
The Vice-President is the chapter host and primary assistant to the President.
The Secretary is the transcriber of the chapter meetings and correspondence.
The Treasurer is responsible for all chapter money and is custodian of the financial records.
Committees
Membership become for valuable the more involved you become. We have opportunities for everyone to be an active member. Committees do not require a huge time commitment and can be joined at any time even by those with busy schedules.
Professional Development committee shall inform the chapter of seminars, leadership opportunities and other professional development opportunities in ABWA and in the community.
Fundraising committee shall present recommendations for projects that will provide sufficient funds for the chapter that should be used to support the chapter’s goals.
Membership committee shall encourage membership retention and membership recruitment.
Newsletter committee shall publish a chapter newsletter, bimonthly to monthly and coordinate its distribution.
Program committee shall secure program speakers that reflect the member’s needs to achieve their career goals.
Publicity committee shall send promotional information to all media outlets in their community to promote chapter and member achievements and events.
Hospitality committee shall secure meeting locations and dinner arrangements, supply member name tags, and greet guests.
Website committee shall maintain current information on the chapter website.
EMC Representative shall attend the bimonthly EMC meetings to represent the Nokomis Chapter.
Education committee shall coordinate the availability and present the chapter scholarships and grants.
